Swift Bay

Swift Bay is a secluded inlet where dramatic sandstone cliffs meet calm, turquoise waters. This remote haven offers a serene escape into nature’s quiet grandeur, framed by mangroves, tidal mudflats, and the vast northern sky.

The bay holds a remarkable cultural legacy, home to some of the region’s most extraordinary ancient art. The Wanjina and Gwion Gwion (Bradshaw) rock paintings, hidden within sheltered rock faces, tell stories passed down through countless generations of the Wunambal Gaambera people, the Traditional Owners of this land. These artworks are living connections to a time when the land and sea were one, inviting visitors to witness history etched in stone.

It’s a rare place of stillness and discovery on a coastline shaped by both nature and the enduring presence of its people.
